The open Council positions for next year are:

Stewardship, Committee Chair

Buildings and Grounds, Committee Chair

Social Ministry, Committee Chair

Each position is for a 3-year term.  

  • Buildings & grounds

    The committee shall oversee the maintenance and care of all buildings, equipment, and grounds. Emphasis shall be given to preventive maintenance and congregational involvement. Planning shall be developed to aid in budget preparation.


    Work toward greater energy efficiency


    Coordinate an annual spring and fall “clean up” day


    Coordinate snow removal with the custodians and whoever is hired to do snow removal


    Develop long-range plans for upkeep and use of building

  • social ministry

    This committee will develop and oversee the benevolence budget, seeking to involve the congregation in social ministry opportunities.


    The chair will represent our congregation’s social ministry effort on the church council.


    The committee should be alert for such conditions as poverty, loneliness, pain, hunger, etc., in our local and world community, and coordinate the congregation’s effort to help.


    The committee should give special attention to educating the congregation about issues of hunger and homelessness, encouraging giving to missions which support our neighbors in need.

  • stewardship

    The committee shall plan and conduct a year-round program to evaluate the financial commitment of our members to the programs of the church. The committee shall regularly place before the members individually and as a congregation, the spiritual rewards of planned and regular giving on a proportionate level. Through the use of parish publications, the committee shall educate, inspire, and motivate members toward a Biblical concept of stewardship. Care should be taken that the congregation be encouraged to honor commitments to local, national, and global ministries.

    Encourage the raising of funds for support of the annual budget


    Work with the Foundation to encourage long-range financial support of the congregation and its mission, through enduring gifts of all kinds


    Encourage the giving and use of memorials, Cornerstone, Foundation, Mission for a Day, Renewed Vision for the 90’s, and other projects


    Conduct a yearly commitment drive
